The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival known as Coachella or the Coachella Festival, is an annual two-weekend, three-day music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio California, located in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. It was founded by Paul Tollett in 1999 and it features many genres of music, including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music, as well as art installations and sculptures.
Coachella showcases popular and established musical artists, as well as emerging artists and reunited groups; this year the festival will feature 184 artists. Notable appearances in the past include: Amy Winehouse, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Prince, Paul McCartney, The Killers, Radiohead, Madonna, The Cure, Kanye West, The Strokes, The White Stripes, Jay-Z, Beastie Boys, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters and many others. Coachella is one of the largest, most famous, and most profitable music festivals in the United States.
The other half of the festival is dedicated to visual arts, including installation art and sculpture. Most of the pieces are interactive, providing a visual treat to the attendees walking amongst the festival grounds.
But Coachella is not only about music and art, is also about fashion and expressing through clothes and style. With a specific way of dressing, people attending the event bring a feeling of freedom and confidence to the scenery, promoting the love for life, friendship and adventure. The festival is a true inspiration for the upcoming summer, showing different styles of shorts, denim items, long dresses, cropped tops, laidback layers and hippie-chic accessories. The sunglasses, the cool boots, the message t-shirts, the statement jewelry, the big scarfs, they are all a must for the music event or why not for the approaching summer. Let’s go Coachella!
